A Fetus's Worst Nightmare

Check out this post at "Between Two Worlds" on Barak Obama's abortion commitments. Frightening. Horrific.

Obama opposes a ban on a horrific form of abortion, because it allows no recourse for mothers in that situation due to grave health concerns.

The congress nor the Supreme Court took the issue of health into account.

In the delicate ethical dilemma of a mother's life over the life of her unborn child, shouldn't that decision be left to the mother and her family? What if she has other children to care for, a husband?

I don't support abortion simply in matters of "inconvenience" nor do I think pregnancy is a punishment (it's a natural consequence), but I do think he has a point in allowing for that sticky ethical issue.

In life versus life, which life is worth more? And why should Christians decide in that ethical matter when Jews, Muslims, and Hindus each hold a different view when it comes to such decisions? We live in a pluralistic society, and that's the trade-off. If a certain religious tradition thinks life begins at birth, not at conception, we have to allow them to make certain ethical decisions. Abortions should be very rare, but unfortunately many occur when occur because of selfishness and a sense of entitlement. But sometimes not everything is black and white, and people need to be able to make that decision.
